Dark Forest Fairy Mercy page 39

Within a minute I saw an elephant walking towards us. My mind wondered how many more animals there are in this forest but she casually pulled me back and ran towards the elephant.
At first I was afraid to see her run towards the elephant but in an instant, I realized the truth that all the animals in this forest are familiar to her. I laughed in my mind watching her childish behavior because she's my forest fairy. I guessed to myself that she knew the language of animals.
She turned, gestured for me to come near her. I walked slowly, watching the elephant in amazement.
“My friend, Daniel.” She said cheerfully.
I was determined not to show my fear to her. “I don't have any friends like you have” I couldn't guess where and what animal would come next in that dense forest. I looked around and smiled at her.
I think if she understood my fear from the way I look and my smile. So she got to the point where I first started. “I remind you again that there is no one in this forest except us.” She stared at me as she kissed the elephant softly.

See you tomorrow.

“I have to ask her one thing.” I smiled, trying to be realistic.
She looked at what I was saying and asked, “What is it?” She inquired fervently.
“I can't reveal it to you but I want to tell you one thing.” I looked at her directly and I could see the curiosity in her eyes to hear what I was going to say.
“You are so beautiful.” It was hard for me to hide my love from her.
When I said that, she was stunned and looked at me. I abruptly grabbed her hands and gazed her eyes.
“I never imagined I would see an angel in my life but now she is standing before my eyes.” She's mine. I decided that I could not leave her alone in this forest.
I went near her to reduce the little distance between us but she did not say a word after that. She liked me that I could see in her eyes. So I bravely touched her cheeks and looked at her lips for a kiss.
Upon hearing the sound of the elephant, Suddenly I was so frightened that my legs pushed me back. My eyes wandered in search of that elephant.
She bowed her head and smiled beautifully.

See you tomorrow.

I was told in my mind that it looks like when comparing to her, that bear is okay. “I mean, what I came to say was that I came here looking for someone.” At the thought of being with her, my words stumbled.
I must tell her that I can't leave the forest without her but I'm not in the mood to say it now because I came here just for something else.
I had completely forgotten what I came here for and Mr Michael’s family. I thought if I could ask her for any help but she was just about to send me out of the forest.
When she heard what I said, she turned to me. “There is no one here.” She finished and turned her gaze away from my side.
“How do you speak this language fluently?” I kept inquiring about her, forgetting what to ask.
“My mother just taught.” She replied casually.
“Are you here with your mother?” surprised. “I would like to meet your mother.” I persisted her.
For a few seconds we had only silence. She broke the silence after thinking serenely. “You haven't told me anything about you yet and Why would you like to visit my mother?” She stood quietly and stared at me in amazement.

See you tomorrow.

She smiled as she understood everything. “Let it go but leave this forest immediately.”
“Do I want to live in this forest? If you're coming with me, I'm ready to leave this forest right now.” I grumbled to only myself.
“What?” She asked.
“You keep talking.” I stopped watching her and shifted my gaze.
“This forest is very dangerous. I'll leave you near your car.” She stood up and waited for me.
But when I knew that she was not going to leave me in this place, I began to ask her something to stop her. “How long have you been here?” I asked, my voice deep, cold and strange.
“From my childhood.” As she was saying, she started to walk and it depressed me.
I fastened two steps forward, grabbed her wrist and stopped her. “Will you just stop walking?” I took a deep breath to stabilize myself. “I can't go today and it's not just me going alone.” There was an excitement in my voice.
“If you can’t go alone, what does that mean? Are you going to take the bear, tiger, lion with you?” She asked curiously.
“The bear?” I asked shockingly. “Why do you remember it?” When I think of the image of the bear, I was terrified.
“You were ready to fight the bear! Then why are you afraid when you hear its name?” She said mockingly, without looking into my eyes and started to walk again.

See you tomorrow.

I had a cold and strong pain in the forehead. However I opened my eyes to see her beautiful face.
I forced myself to sit up and started watching the charming forest fairy as a world wonder. She saved my life and I really liked it.
“What’s your name?” Until then, I didn't need to know anything about her.
“Mercy.” She replied in a suave tone.
“That name suits you.” I smiled and said, looking into her eyes.
“What are you doing here?” Her eyes narrowed but it was beautiful. “Many people have come to this forest with the desire to explore and discover something new but so far no one has seen me.” She paused a moment. “You are the only one who has seen me because I was forced into a situation to save you.” When she finished speaking, she saw me upright to check my expression.
“Whatever the situation?” I asked abruptly without thinking about anything.
“If I didn't save you, you'd be stuck with that bear.” She spoke boldly and even her courage was beautiful.
“No, even if you don't save, I was ready to fight the bear.” I have to struggle to maintain my dignity more than I struggle with the bear.

See you tomorrow.

“Your forehead is bleeding. What happened?” She asked  and took my hand that was on my forehead. Something made me forget my pain. When she touched, I felt a deep sense of comfort.
“I'm okay.” I smiled and lied but at the same time my eyes closed automatically.
I could sense all the things going on around me but I could not open my eyes because of the dizziness.
She lifted me off the ground and tied me on her back with the root of a tree. She grabbed an aerial root and jumped from there to another aerial. I open my eyes as she grabs it and jumps, at that moment, I was flying with her.
I was terrified of the distance between us and the ground. I closed my eyes again, not knowing if she could bear my weight.
My mind questioned me about how beautiful she is. It even seemed to me that I came to this forest just to see this fairy.
She finally got me down on a riverbank. The river was frozen but she found some water on the bank of the river, took it in a leaf and made me drink. I had thought to myself that I could ask her for water but she understood my need and quenched my thirst.

See you tomorrow.

SMILE NEVER FAILS

Dark Forest Fairy Mercy page 33

At that moment the bear was jumping on me, suddenly someone jumped down from the tree in front of me. I was shocked because I didn't expect it. She looked like the princess of this forest and she was dressed in something made of animal skins.
She looked at me once and immediately shifted her gaze to the bear. I was surprised and shocked to see that the bear had quietly left the place when the girl saw it.
While watching this scene, I forgot that I was hurt and when suddenly remembered, I pressed my hand over the sore spot. After seeing the bear, she came to me and knelt down. She looked even more beautiful to look at nearby.
“Who are you?” She asked in a soft voice.
I was surprised that she spoke English beautifully. The girl living with animals in the forest knew how to speak human language and it seemed amazing to me.
I controlled my thoughts and started talking to her, “I'm Kevin.” I wrinkled my face in pain.
It was hard for me to open my eyes because the pain was so high. Despite that, I tried to open my eyes to see her beautiful face again. I saw some kindness in her beautiful crystal brown eyes.

See you tomorrow.

I started running because I didn't have time to stand and think, but the bear wouldn't let me and it kept chasing me madly. After running too fast, I realized that my legs were not strong enough to run anymore but my legs did not stop running, even when I turned around to see if the bear was chasing me.
Because I was running in fear watching the bear chase me, I forgot to look at the tree in front of me. I couldn't stop my legs from running because the incident had taken place quickly. Suddenly looking ahead, I hit the tree and fell down and my forehead was severely wounded.
Blood came out fast from my forehead, I felt like that place was circling around me. I pressed my forehead with my palm but the blood was still flowing.
Somehow I thought it was time to get up and run but I couldn't move. I'm pretty sure there's no one to rescue me from the bear in this dense forest and If I want to save myself, I just have to try.
My throat was so dry and I can't make any noise from it. Probably no one will come to help me in the forest even if I scream. I know for sure that I was the bear's lunch today. The way it looked made me even more frightened.

See you tomorrow.

Dark Forest Fairy Mercy page 31

For a moment I felt deathly silence and So, I lifted my head to look for that bear but it was nowhere to be seen. Should I be happy that the bear is nowhere to be seen or am I scared of where it has gone?
Suddenly, that bear jumped down from the tree and then started to smash the left window glass in my car. I jumped back in panic.
Fear tightened my chest, it was hard to breathe when I saw that bear shattering my car's window glass. In a little while the bear will break the car's windshield. I have to find some way to escape but still I don't know what to do. I have never seen a wild animal outside the cage so close.
Suddenly I had an idea, perhaps the bear enters the door on the left, I have no choice but to open the right door to rescue myself. I must wait until the bear breaks the glass.
Little by little the glass began to crash. The bear shook the car, at the speed of breaking the windshield, my body dashed into the door on the right. My hands searched for something to hold.
As I expected, the glass broke and the bear was trying to get through it. Without hesitating for a moment, to save me, I opened the right door and jumped out.

See you tomorrow.

After seeing the place once, I walked towards my car. I was confused whether I could find Mr. Michael’s family or not. My mind was questioning me in what courage I had come here.
Maybe if he cheated on me? What is the need to cheat like that? Exactly what he wants from me? Why did he act like this?  So many questions were running through my mind.
Suddenly a bear came to attack me. There is no time to analyze where it came from and how it came there. There was no way to drive the car over it but I was forced to get into the car, even though I knew it was worthless. I opened the door fast and got inside.
It was frantically running towards my car, circling around and searching for me. I was frozen in fear of not knowing what to do and I scolded myself for coming alone. I can't drive or even get down.
I was sitting down, bowing my head, but I know it wasn't going to leave my car. Its hungry look terrified me. I was staring at the bear in a panicked tension and it almost sounded like horror.

See you tomorrow.

I didn't let her ask me anything, opened the door and went outside. Mom followed me and she was watching until my car crossed the gate.
I still don't understand why I'm doing all this and I have left my friends for him. I have never done anything without them but I have changed many things that usually happen. Now I have no answer for the questions they ask but I will return with answers from the dark forest.
My mind told me that I could go and see there once where I met Mr. Michael the first day but he did not come. When I realized that it was useless to wait for him, I drove off the car faster and reached the dark forest.
I drove the car in the forest without thinking about anything. I drove as fast as I could that I had to go inside before my mind changed and when I could not get inside, I stopped the car.
I slowly got out of the car and looked around. It was a big dense forest and I could not see the sky clearly but the trees that were covered in snow were beautiful.

See you tomorrow.

Dark Forest Fairy Mercy 1st chapter

Dark Forest Fairy Mercy

Prologue
Create the situation for yourself but don't let the situation overwhelm you. We cannot change God's creation but we can change our creation and make our lives happy. That is birth and death are created by God but happiness and suffering are created by us. We have to face the fate which is chasing us at horse speed.

Christmas Gift
It was a time when the impact of cold was higher but who doesn't like winter. It is my desire too to pull the blanket and sleep in the cold days but I was annoyed when mom pulled out my blanket. “Please mom, I can't wake up now.” I groaned with little shiver and realized the importance of blanket.

Today was a happy day, so I was waiting for tomorrow and the needle of the clock was moving toward ten o'clock. My ears were deafened by the cold and I was already tired of helping my brothers who were decorating our house for Christmas.
Not even the joy of going to see my friends a week later but only the thought of attending the Christmas celebration insisted me to get up.
My brothers are having a happy Christmas celebration, they're wandering in the moonlight with their friends but I couldn't, because I'm only five years old.
“Kevin, We're going to the hospital.” said mom Karen. “We can't leave you alone at home. Get up. Get ready” Mom finished and quickly went out to turn off the lights in the other rooms.
When I stumbled and came out, my dad Williams was looking for something. I stood silently.
Dad got the car key he was looking for, and rushed to pick it up. “Let's leave.” said dad. He walked towards the car and Mom followed him. I could sense that something was wrong but not knowing what to do I went out fast.
Engine snarled, the car shook once and went ahead. Dad started driving the car faster that made me nervous. Decorations added extra beauty to every home and the glowing lights were swallowing the darkness. My eyes were quietly watching the snowfall but there was something in my mind.
We reached the hospital in an hour and it was little crowded. When Dad gestured, we both got out of the car and went inside. He then left to park the car. My dad's friend, Uncle Michael was standing outside a room looking very tensed.
“How's Olivia?” Mom asked uncle Michael. There was some sort of tension in her voice.
“In the delivery room,” He said in a low voice.
Dad arrived. “Everything will be fine.” He tapped uncle Michael's shoulder.
Two hours passed and suddenly I heard a woman scream from a room. It took me few seconds to make sure that the screaming woman was aunt Olivia. I ran to my mom in fear and she cuddled me.
My chest ached in panic, my hands trembled, I had never heard such a howling noise. I gripped mom's shoulder tightly, afraid to come out of her arms.
A little while later, the door opened and a nurse came out with a beautiful baby in her arms. Everyone ran towards the baby but I was the only one staring at the baby in a certain distance.
“Your wife is fine and she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl in this Christmas.” The nurse said happily.
Everyone was impressed with the beauty of the child. Slowly I walked closer and grabbed my mother's hand. I was afraid to even touch the baby since it was a newborn.
Uncle Michael seemed to be happy from the moment  he saw the baby. Within a few minutes, the nurse took the baby to another room. I shook my mother's hand lightly.  She immediately turned to me, raised her eyebrows and asked me what it was.
“When will we go home?”I asked in a thin voice.
“Let's go home after seeing aunt Olivia.” Mom said
When my mom said aunt Olivia's name, I remembered how  she screamed. Mom, Dad, and Uncle Michael were standing quietly but I just don't know what to do. I was worried about not being able to attend Christmas celebrations.
The same nurse came out a little later. “Now you can go in and see your wife.” She finished and left.
Uncle Michael opened the door, went in fast and we followed him. In that room, aunt Olivia was lying on the bed and that beautiful baby in the cradle on her left side.
The child was wrapped in a white towel and I was stunned, amazed by the beauty of the child. When mom grabbed my hand and pulled me to the nearest of the cradle, I tilted my head and saw how that baby was seeing.
Her eyes were beautiful, lips were small and her nose was little red. I wanted to touch that child's cheek but also afraid that mom would scold. While Mom and Dad were inquiring  aunt Olivia about her health condition, I tried to touch the baby with one finger. My heart began to beat faster, hands trembled that I had ever touched a newborn baby.
Finally, I touched the baby's chin with one finger and it was very soft.
“Well, I'll come back tomorrow morning and if you need anything in between, just call me.” Dad said as he tapped uncle Michael’s shoulder.
Hearing these words from my father, I felt sad because the time has come for us to leave the child. I stared at the child for a few seconds and then kissed her forehead once and raised my head.
In that moment when I lifted my head she grabbed the chain I was wearing around my neck.
“I think she likes your chain.” Mom said as she grabbed my shoulder.
Everyone agreed to what Mom had said and nodded. Suddenly I took the chain I was wearing around my neck and gave it to  aunt Olivia but nobody expected this from me.
“We were just kidding, dear.” Aunt Olivia mumbled tiredly.
“Dad gifted it to me on my birthday last year and it has photos of my dad and mom.” I said.
“This is my Christmas gift to the baby.” I gave the chain to uncle Michael and smiled.
“This chain will always be hers.” To my height, he sat on his knees and said cheerfully. “One more thing, whenever you want to see her, inform me and I'll bring you. I promise.” Uncle grabbed my hands and said in a low voice.
We all returned home but I was very tired. Mom and Dad have been talking about this for a long time. I had planned to go to the hospital with them the next day too to see the beautiful baby but I didn't know if I could get up early in the morning.
I could not open my eyes in tired, so I lay down on my cot.

17 years later, November snowfall
“Who are you to stop me?” I shouted furiously.
“Stop shouting, Kevin. Is this the way to talk to dad?” My mom Karen interrupted angrily.
Mom has a lot of affection and she will always speak for me but the only thing she could not bear was the words I spoke against my dad.
“Let it be, Karen. I will not mistake him, and also I cannot hand over my detective office until he reaches the goal I expect.” Dad finished vividly and went down to eat breakfast.
“We are tired of hearing this. When will this argument come to an end? My elder brother (Dad's brother Charlie's son) Joe asked bitterly.
“I'm leaving now. See you then.” After telling him, I turned back, opened the door in front of me, and went out fast.
So far I have not told about my family. My dad Williams, has been running a detective office for the past 32 years and mom Karen, for 30 years she has spent some time helping Dad and most of the time, taking care of us.
My first brother Alan is a doctor and second brother Mike is a police but I wanted to take over my father's detective agency.
Joe is my favorite brother and he has six fingers in his left hand, brown eyes, grey hair. He has just finished the practice in Psychology and he is now a Psychiatrist. Of my three brothers, I like him the most.
He has never left me alone in any dangerous situation. I will share everything that happens in my life with him and also he never hesitated to share what was going on in his life with me.
I tried to keep my attention on the road but it was difficult for  me to control my thoughts. How do I reach my dad's goal? I don't really know what his expectations are, and he has never said that till today. Mom and Dad know everything about my desire and ambition.
Another interest of mine is my friends, Jake, Amy, Hannah and Rob. I pressed the accelerator, started driving the car faster to see my friends.
I reached the place where my friends  were waiting for me. We all planned to go to the movie and I hoped it would relax my mind from the stress of being unable to get my dad's detective office.
“Hey Kevin. You are late.” Jake tapped my shoulder from behind.
“I know that..” I replied.
“You shouldn't be like this.” Jake said, raised his eyebrows and waited for my reply.
“As usual, the same fight that comes up for you and your dad?”Amy asked as she watched the concern on my face.
“Yeah, but there was no change in his response.” I grumbled in disgust.
“Leave it. Have you noticed this?” Hannah interrupted with a mocking smile.
“What?” I turned my head to look at what was going on around me.
“Christie’s waiting for you.” Hannah whispered in my ear.
“Accept her love, Kevin.” Rob spoke for her. “She's like an angel.” I know, he likes her very much. “Many girls have told you their love and some of them have even put a curse on you. So many girls are mad at you but you haven't found your angel yet.” He finished in disgust.
“Well let it be. Do you have any plans? Amy, tomorrow is Sunday. What are we going to do?” I distracted them.
“No. Not yet.” She smiled bleakly.
At that moment, Christie stepped towards us. “She's coming. She came near us.” Rob grumbled as he looked at her.
“Rob, no.” I shook my head.
“Hey,” When Christie said in a mild voice, I turned back to look at her directly.
“Hey,” I smiled gently.
“I must remind you.” She said, looking into my eyes.
“You have to remind me of what?” I asked suddenly.
“I'm waiting for you.” She blushed.
“Why are you waiting for me? You don't have to.” I replied quickly.
“You may have said this after thinking well.” She demanded again.
“I know what I'm talking...” I said.
“Maybe oneday you will understand my love. Until then I will wait for you. Bye.” She smiled serenely.
“Such a day will never come into your life. Don't waste your  time. Bye. See you again.” I tried to conclude.
“This is not fair, Kevin.” Hannah hated the response I told Christie.
“What he did was really good.” Rob encouraged.
“Which is a good thing?” Hannah asked furiously.
“Only then I will get a chance to talk to Christie about my love.” Rob said, gazed at Christie again.
“Don't expect her to love you if you do this.” Hannah groaned.
“I have hope that she will love me.” Rob insisted.
“We will see that too.” Hannah also did not end this fight.
“Always you both are fighting for something like this.” Amy said boredly.
Watching their fight, I do not understand what to say. After a while I started talking, “You two listen to me first. There is no such thing in my mind as taunting her. I thought this should be cleared.”
Everyone was staring at me in silence. “I never had such a feeling on her till now and not anymore.” I shook my head. “She should not waste her life thinking about this and you both are fighting without understanding it.” At last I convinced them.
“Stop it , guys. Movie is going to start.” After a while Jake   interrupted.
After hearing what he said, we all went inside to watch the movie. I was already under the stress of not getting Dad's detective office and I came here to relax my mind but this fight is not new to us.

Dark Forest Fairy Mercy 2nd chapter

A middle-aged stranger
After enjoying the movie, I dropped my friends in their place and I was driving the car to get back to my home. Ever since I was 12, I have been thinking about my father's detective office and I was ready to do anything to get that office but still not sure what to do.
Even though I was thinking about this, my focus on driving the car did not dissipate but suddenly I was panicked and stopped the car when a 45-year-old man was crossing that road thinking of something.
At the speed, I stopped the car, I jerked forward and dashed back to my seat. If I had hit him, he would not have been alive. I opened the door fast without delaying even a minute and went to him angrily.
“What do you do? If I thought for a moment to stop the car, you'd be dead.” I shouted at him furiously but he looked worriedly at me and then turned his gaze on the snow-covered trees.
“Hello!” I waved my hand before his eyes. “Look at me. I'm asking you. You are deaf?” My anger and tension were expressed in words.
He turned in shock. “Did you talk to me?” He asked skeptically, raised his eyebrows and it stunned me.
“Of course yes. What am I crazy about talking to myself?” I was irritated by the way he behaved.
“I can't believe it.” He smiled in surprise.
“Can't believe it? what?” Now I was confused and disgusted.
“You don't understand it. Anyway, I'm Michael.” He said cheerfully.
“Kevin.” I extended my hand to him.
“How is this possible?” I could hear him muttering to himself.
“What's possible?” I asked impatiently.
“You don't understand my situation and I can't say.” He mumbled again.
“Yes. I don't understand anything and I don't know why I'm talking to you.” I replied in confusion and also I don't want to leave him there.
“I don't know how to express my happiness. Great to meet you, Mr. Kevin.” He said brightly.
With so much joy, he forgot to shake my hand. I smiled, “Where are you going? I will drop you.” Before hearing his answer, I opened the door and waited for him because it was really hard for me to stand in that snow. When he got in the car, I closed the door.
“Why are you doing this to me?” When I sit in my seat, Mr. Michael asked suspiciously.
“I have seen you somewhere before but I don't know when and where..” I struggled in confusion.
“No one has seen me here for 17 years.” Mr. Michael replied suddenly.
“I don't understand any of your answers but I'm sure. I have seen you.” I kept thinking about him.
He smiled without saying a word.
“Well, Where do you want to go now?” Finally I asked before starting the engine.
“After a long time, I am going to visit my family.” He answered clearly.
“Where they are right now?” Suddenly, I don't know where it came from that the curiosity to know about his family.
“In the dark forest.” He replied with no emotion on his face.
“Dark Forest?” I was shocked. “When did you leave them there?” There was a sort of tension inside me. He was staring at me, when I asked him.
“17 years ago,” He answered patiently.
“What?” I asked with suspicion and nothing was understandable. “Will anyone leave the family for 17 years? How would they have lived without you?” I stacked up my questions.
These are the questions I asked, but there were many running through my mind.
“I was in big trouble and I couldn't find them. Only a week ago, I found out where they are staying.” Mr. Michael said miserably.
“If so, you are going to meet them after a long time? I think, this Christmas is going to be unforgettable for you and your family. Have you bought them gifts.” I don't understand why I care so much about Mr. Michael's family. Something was grabbing me. I was eager to go with him and visit his family but it's only 15 minutes before I meet Mr. Michael and how do I take this right to him? If he thinks something wrong about me?
I let myself relax a little and asked again, “I asked if you had bought gifts?” I reminded him of the gifts so that he could forget his worries.
“I forgot about the gifts and now I have no money.” After saying that, he was thinking something deeply.
“Don't worry, I'm ready to do whatever help you need.” I said this wholeheartedly because my mind kept telling me that only I can help him.
“Can you do this?” Mr. Michael asked.
I could see the joy in his face and a little tension in his speech.
“Hmm...” I nodded decisively.
“Okay stop the car right here.” He said suddenly.
When I heard what he said, I stopped the car and he told me to open the car door because he was hurt on his hands. He got out of the car and said that he had some work.
“Come tomorrow morning to the same place where you met me. I'll be waiting for you there.” He said softly.
I could not shift my gaze from him. I kept looking at him in silence and forgot to answer him.
“Okay now you go.” A few seconds later, he told me to leave.
I relaxed, started the engine and left. His behavior and actions were unfathomable and it made me think of him the whole  night.
I woke up the next morning before my mom woke me up. I didn't care for the cold and also no desire to sleep. I didn't say anything to mom and also to my brother Joe.
I went to visit Mr. Michael, forgetting about the plan to go out with my friends.
Something was insisting me to respect his words and I drove the car fast, hoping to meet him again. From my early teens, I was interested in reading detective novels and wished to work in the detective field. Maybe it made me curious to know more about him.
He had been there before me. “You have arrived early.” I smiled.
He smiled calmly. When I opened the door, without saying a word, he got into the car. I took him to the shop to buy gifts for his family. He asked me to buy some clothes for his daughter but he didn't even know how much his daughter would grow up now. He stayed in the car because he said that he was sick. Without understanding what to do, I also went to the store and bought few dresses.
“I'll return your money back soon.” He said thankfully.
“It doesn't matter.” I replied casually.
“May I ask you something?” Mr. Michael asked impatiently.
“What?” I turned my head, looked at him once and shifted my gaze to the road.
“Are you in love?” There was some sort of tension in his voice.
I smiled and then proceeded. “I have never seen my favorite girl so far.”
When he heard my words, there was much joy on his face. I did not understand the meaning of that happiness seen on his face. We went quietly for a while.
“Will you marry my daughter?” Without any tension, he asked in a brave tone.
But I was shocked when he asked me to marry his daughter.  How could he ask without knowing anything about me? It was all new to me.
After a moment of silence, I started to talk. “Are you kidding me? After a long time, now you are going to see your daughter and you know nothing about her. How can you ask me to marry her?” I ended up fast.
We both kept quiet for a while but he was staring at the road because he doesn't know what to talk to me. I asked him the questions that I had in my mind but didn't think it would hurt him.
I broke the silence to distract him. “Well, when are we going to the dark forest?” I asked curiously.
“What? Are you coming with me?” He asked in amazement.
“Of course yes. I want to see how they feel, when you visit your family after a long.” I was more interested in meeting his family than him. Going into the forest can be an adventurous ride.
Suddenly, I was shocked because I remember my mom. Yes I promised Mr. Michael without thinking of her. She would never agree to an adventurous trip like this. Not knowing what to do, I kept thinking about my mom.
Suddenly he interrupted, “Maybe, if you're coming with me tomorrow, you should come alone.” He said in a commanding voice.
“What is the reason? Why should I hide this from others?” I asked with confusion.
“Because I don't trust anyone and I can't trust anyone.” He responded bitterly and shifted his gaze.
Hearing what he said made me realize that he was suffering from something. I could understand the depth of his anxiety and also I could not ask him any more questions besides driving the car in silence.
I dropped him at the same place and went back tiredly.
Another surprise awaited me in my room. I went home with many confusions and it was my friends who were waiting for me.
When I saw them, I did not understand what to do. As if something was stuck, I rubbed my hand on my forehead.
Finally, I opened my mouth and said “Hey,” I smiled at the thought of calming them down but when they stared at me, I realized that they were very angry.
“What's your problem?” Amy asked gravely.
“Uh... Hmm... Nothing.” I shook my head but didn't meet them face to face.
“Talk to me.” Jake tapped me.
“What are you asking him? He does not remember us.” Rob shouted.
“Why don't you call us and didn't even pick up when we called?” Hannah asked furiously.
I was stunned not knowing what to answer for them. Anyway they are not going to let me go until I tell the truth and also, I can't lie to them.
“We need the truth, Kevin. You've never done anything like this before.” Rob spoke like he knew what I was thinking in my mind.
I shared a silent look for a while and then I slowly lay down on my bed. The thought of telling them the truth or not was running through my mind.
After a while my thoughts came to a conclusion that I must tell the truth. I began to tell them what had happened after I met Mr. Michael. They haven't spoken anything since I started saying it.
To find out their expression, I looked up but they were quietly thinking.
“This is not good, Kevin.” Hannah spoke out loud.
“You never know who he is and how did you do so much for him? I'm so confused.” Jake stumbled.
“You're going to run the detective office in the future. Don't you know that it is foolish to go into the Dark Forest without trusting someone?” Amy reminded me of my ambition.
“His father was right, of course, he refused to give him the detective office.” Jake poured out his words in anger.
I waited quietly for their anger to subside. They are afraid that any danger will come to me but I was afraid that maybe they would tell this to my mom.
“You shouldn't go to that forest.” Hannah said sternly. “We keep talking but you are just watching quietly.” Her anger was growing. “Rob, Say something.” She turned and looked at him.
“Who am I to stop him.?” Rob said in disgust.
I started to talk because the problem was too much and it would not work if I kept quiet. “I had promised to help him but I'm going to break that promise for my friends.” I said with regret.
I know they won't let me live in guilt and so I was waiting for their response. They were wondering what to say but finally Rob opened his mouth. “Well you can do whatever you like but not without us.” He demanded.
I find no way to refuse what Rob said and it came to my mind that Mr. Michael told me not to tell anyone. What can I do? The struggle was going on in my mind whether Mr. Michael  or my friends. In the end, my friends just won and I have decided to take them with me into the Dark Forest.
“Okay. Get ready for tomorrow.” I said half-heartedly.
They all agreed and left.
I woke up early in the morning and got ready. When I opened the window, morning cold breeze touched my face, the rising snowfall has confirmed that the month December is going to born in two days.
I closed the window door and slowly went down with my bag.   I was more and more worried about what he would think of me but I took my friends and went to the place where I met Mr. Michael.
Everyone was eager to meet him. He usually waits there before me, but today he doesn't come after I arrived. It embarrassed me.
We couldn't get out of the car because it was 8am and the snow was so high. An hour went but Mr. Michael hasn't arrived yet. I was worried that there was any danger to him but waiting for somebody was annoying to my friends.
Regardless of the snowfall, I got down from the car and waited for him.
“He will not come.” Amy's voice distracted me from thinking about Mr. Michael.
“He will come.” I said strongly and turned my face away.
“What happened to you, Kevin?” Jake got down, closed the car door fast and shouted.
“Nothing.” I shrugged.
“If so, get in the car. We have to leave this place.” Jake  spoke out loud again.
I was standing there like ignoring what he said and I understood that my behavior would make my friends angry.
“What's between you two?” Rob asked.
“Nothing.” I shrugged again.
“You are struggling like a fish lying outside the water.” said Amy.
“Okay relax. Well we can look for him.” Hannah tried to console me.
“How long have we been waiting here? We don't know who he is and where to find him?” said Jake and he couldn't keep quiet.
“Don't say anything to appease him because we cannot seek him.” said Rob.
Rob realistically told the truth because even I know they cannot seek Mr. Michael without knowing who he is and where he came from.
“Let's leave now.” Hannah persisted.
It came to my mind that she was right because I didn't want to bother my friends. Mr. Michael didn't save his words but he told me not to tell anyone, I guess he didn't come because I told my friends. I can't understand who's at fault. Without saying a word I got into the car.
Jake started the engine. I could never forget his face, his voice and his problem. He was an innocent man and I had promised him that I would take him to his family.
I had to spend that day with my friends.
Then I reluctantly drove the car and came home. When I got out of the car and opened the back door to pick up my bag, I saw the gifts Mr. Michael had bought for his family.
I felt very frustrated and without talking to anyone in my family, I went upstairs. Even though I was tired, I couldn't sleep and watching when the night was over. I was lying in bed without sleep all night.

Journey To The Dark Forest
In the morning, I woke up with a promise to visit Mr. Michael’s family today. After getting ready, I went down to start my journey to the dark forest. I thought I should tell mom but if I told her that I was going to the dark forest, she wouldn't let me go there. I stood there wondering what to do.
“Kevin,” Suddenly, I was shocked when I heard Mom's voice.
I turned and looked at her. Some sort of concern was clearly visible on her face. It must be a concern that I haven't talked to her properly for two days. I was in confusion and so, I couldn't spend more time with her.
I smiled quietly as she looked at me like I would say the truth.  “I'll be back soon, mom.” I said this without looking her eyes.
“Kevin, look at me.” Mom said in a low voice.
“Mom, I don't know what dad's expectation is but somehow I have to fulfill his intention.” I took a deep breath and continued. “I will prove to him that I am the only person  capable of taking his detective office. Please, trust me.” I begged.
When she saw me, her eyes asked where I was going. “Mom, Don't ask me anything now.” I answered before she opened her mouth.

See you tomorrow.
